Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about MobileUps apps — safety, privacy, offline use, monetization, and support.
Yes. Every MobileUps app is signed with our official keystore, distributed through Google Play (with the security checks Google performs on every upload), and undergoes Play Console's pre-launch and ongoing safety scans. Several of our apps (DocLensPro) are open-source so you can audit the code yourself. We never bundle malware, tracking SDKs, or hidden data collection.
Most do. Sokoban Puzzle Master, Block Blast Ultimate, Tower Stack Classic, Hextris Classic, Ghost Hunt, Astray: Pixel Quest, Trivia Brain Test, and Text Viewer all work fully offline. DocLensPro runs OCR offline. LocalMind runs AI inference entirely on-device. Apps requiring internet (Thai Lottery Checker, WindShield for live weather, Doczio for cloud sync) clearly state that requirement.
Yes, all MobileUps apps are free to download. Some include optional ads to support development. None have subscription paywalls for core features. We don't lock essential functionality behind premium tiers — if a feature is shown in the app, you can use it for free.
Optional ads displayed within most apps (via Google AdMob). We don't sell user data, run subscription paywalls, or take a cut of in-app purchases. The ad revenue keeps the apps free and funds development of new ones.
No. We don't sell user data to third parties. We use Google AdMob for ads (industry-standard, with the same privacy practices as most free Android apps) and Firebase Analytics for crash reporting and basic usage stats. Privacy-sensitive apps like DocLensPro and LocalMind explicitly run fully offline. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Most MobileUps apps support Android 7.0 (Nougat) and up — covering 95%+ of active Android devices in 2026. Apps that use newer APIs (LocalMind for on-device AI) may require Android 8.0+. Each app's exact minimum version is listed in its Google Play Store entry.
Primary distribution is Google Play Store. Most apps are also available on Samsung Galaxy Store, Amazon Appstore, Xiaomi GetApps, and AppBrain. Each app's dedicated page lists all official download sources.
Email shaharbhayun@gmail.com with the app name and a description. Bug reports are most useful when they include the device model and Android version. Feature requests are evaluated in priority order — fixes for live bugs come first. We typically respond within 1-2 business days.
Ads keep the apps free for everyone. We use Google AdMob, the same ad network most free Android apps use. We've configured the integration to minimize disruption — ads never play during gameplay in our games (only between levels) and never block productivity flows in our utility apps. Some apps include optional one-time premium upgrades to remove ads.
MobileUps is run by Shahar Ben Hayun, an independent Android developer based in Raanana, Israel. MobileUps has been publishing Android apps since 2018, with 948,000+ total downloads across the catalog as of 2026. Learn more on the About page.
Currently MobileUps focuses on native Android apps. Several apps use HTML5 game engines under the hood (Block Blast Ultimate, Hextris Classic, Sokoban Puzzle Master) but distribution is through the Google Play wrapper, not a web app. Web versions may launch in the future.
Bug fixes are released within days. Feature updates ship monthly to quarterly per app. Flash Alerts Ultimate (our most-installed app at 778K) has the fastest update cadence due to its accessibility users depending on reliable behavior across Android versions.
Yes. Apps are distributed through Samsung Galaxy Store, Amazon Appstore, and Xiaomi GetApps. We do not provide direct APK downloads outside Google Play to protect users from modified/malicious versions. If you need an alternative store, AppBrain lists all official versions.
Yes. None of our apps require account creation to function. Some optional features (cloud sync in Doczio, leaderboard in Trivia Brain Test) need an account, but the core functionality of every app works without signing up.
Apps are primarily English. Several have additional language support: Trivia Brain Test auto-translates to 59 languages, LocalMind supports 10 (English, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, French, Farsi, Indonesian, Malay), Doczio handles Hebrew, Arabic, and CJK text via OCR and RTL display. Most utility apps inherit your Android system language for UI strings.
Yes. Independent reviews of every MobileUps app are published at RateTopic, covering features, competitor comparisons, and pros/cons. Find your app's review at ratetopic.com/article/<app-name>-review.
Each app requests only the permissions it actually needs. Flash Alerts Ultimate needs camera access for the flash. Doczio and DocLensPro need camera for scanning. Thai Lottery Checker uses camera for ticket scanning. LocalMind needs microphone for voice input. We never request location, contacts, or SMS access unless the app feature explicitly needs it (and we'll explain why in the permission prompt).
